Claiborne Electric Grant awarded to Homer High for STEM and Robotics

Homer High School has received a grant in the amount of $3,986.05 from Claiborne Electric Co-Op Operation Round-Up Trust.  Grant monies will be used to purchase LEGO Mindstorm robotics kits, which will be used by students in mathematics and science classes. The new robotics program focuses on STEM concepts, and is designed to help students improve their scores on standardized tests, utilize math concepts for programming/coding, and engage in teamwork and problem-solving.  Student teams will also be able to use the robotics kits to compete in team challenge competitions.
