Besides making good grades in school, planning for college is an important step in the transition from high school to adulthood for many students. The Homer High School counselor’s office provides many services to our students to assist them in this transition from high school to college and career after graduation. The school counselor aids the administration in scheduling students to qualify for TOPS tuition assistance, helps students complete scholarship applications to post-secondary institutions, and also provides individual counseling services as needed for the student population.
Please browse the links provided below to familiarize yourself with the college application process, and be sure to meet deadlines for applications as they arrive during the year. Students may make an appointment with the counselor to discuss their options after graduation. Parents, we encourage you to maintain an active role in the planning process for your student to graduate on time and be successful in his or her post-secondary goals, whether they be at a 2-year or 4-year college or other technical certification program.
